Thrifting in Lethbridge
As a new resident to southern Alberta, my favourite thrifty twins Jaycene and Janessa were celebrating their birthday by spending the day in Lethbridge thrifting! We drove down around 9:00am to get started with a shop downtown just a few blocks from the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, sadly it was closed. According to the girls this was the place they found the best items when they were living here attending university. A disappointing start to the day unfortunately but we carried on, checking out the MCC Thrift Store, The Salvation Army, Bibles for Missions and finishing the day with Value Village.
Our thrift finds throughout the day were few and far between but I did find something at almost each place for under $5! The dresses I bought at Salvation Army were half price! To make my luck even better, at Bibles for Missions the spring jacket I found was also half price! By far the most exciting store of the day was Value Village – huge in comparison to the one in Medicine Hat. I kept myself under control by not taking a cart with me, but I soon learned our crew all had massive amounts of goodies in their arms by the time we reached the cashier!
You would think they were giving things away for free, huge lines, crowded – all on a Saturday afternoon around 4:00pm. Who would have thought? We paid as a group as I had a full 30% off card I needed to use so we got even better deals by teaming up! I’m sure we must have annoyed anyone behind us… oops!
