New Bed Complete!

New Bed

I didn’t sleep at all last night, just tossed and turned despite adding a boxspring to the set finally after a month of sleeping basically on the floor. I was relieved to finally find one that was cheap and not $100+! This one was only $20 and would certainly do the trick.
Luckily my new friend Dan was willing to assist me in the pickup, delivery and installation! The man asked if I wanted to wait for my hubby to assist me… Pam stops dead in her tracks… Haha instead of correcting him I just smiled and said “Oh no that’s okay I’ll just have a look at it first while he’s clearing out the truck.” This is not a Dharma & Greg situation, I’ve known Dan for two weeks!

So it became apparent I was pretty useless in helping Dan carry the boxspring up the stairs – I ended up just holding the door while he used his man-powers. Felt bad but they don’t make things with a ridge or handles! I didn’t know how to grab onto this thing… not to mention I thought it was really heavy and he just sort of laughed at me. Oh well!

Cozy Bedroom Decor

Suite 2

My favourite thing about Suite 2 is definitely my bedroom setup. It started out as my living room space, but after 6 months I decided to change up the decor in the whole apartment. So this is now the bedroom. Super cozy with built in white drawers, bench seat at the window and a sage green feature wall painted by yours truly. Commissioned my father to construct this beautiful DIY headboard out of recycled stairwell posts. Love it!

The turquoise shimmer bed topper was $7.99 from Value Village, sadly only a double size and my bed happens to be a queen! The matching pillow cases and accent pillows were also from the same place, found randomly over the summer months. I bought my first shower curtain at Walmart in my first Kingston apartment because I fell in love with the design. I hate to admit the silly thing cost me $24. Such a crazy price for something that hangs outside your shower that serves very little purpose except aesthetics I suppose. After a year it was not in the greatest condition and I didn’t want to use it at the new place (Suite 2) when I moved so I discussed altering them into decorative pillows with my mother, to which she said yes of course!

Suite 2We combined two fabric shower curtains (beige waffle on one side, floral decal on the other) into a variety of unique throw pillows that sat in the window sill. On either side I placed a bunch of assorted vases I had collected over the years all surprisingly in the same colour palette!
