Stunning Royal Blue

Stunning Royal BlueNow this look is was a happy accident, and surprisingly far classier than I expected! I have had both pieces for a little while and had not yet worn either one as I didn’t know how to piece it together. Basically everything I tried didn’t work because this top by H&M is very long and I don’t do the legging look very well. This is actually paired with a long maxi skirt also by H&M. As it turns out the solution to both issues was that they needed each other! Fortunately I happened to realize they were both from H&M, so one could only guess that they were the same shade of royal blue.

This is my latest favourite outfit because its easy to put together, it can be dressed up or down, and it has received by far the most compliments of anything I’ve worn to date!

Jackets: The Finishing Touch!

We all have our wardrobe must-haves, one of mine is a variety of blazers and jackets. I work in a clothing store and I find my body cannot stay warm regardless of the season, either its the bone-chilling air conditioning or the furnace doesn’t heat the room I’m working in. Blazers are a definitely must for work, then I can take them off should that magical day occur when I am warm!

Crazy for Royal Blue!

Royal Blue Skirt Today I just had way too much fun putting together my outfit. I have been going crazy for royal blue lately but the problem with all colours is its hard to match exactly as every brand has it’s own version of the colour as well as things fade and change with age. This skirt was consigned at The Revolving Door for only $10! I’m there 5 out of 7 days a week and it was brought in on a day I wasn’t working. I was cleaning racks and the blue really caught my eye.

I have always liked the high waist style but only in skirts, I simply do not have the body structure for the pants! This vintage (no label) skirt is the ideal length that falls right at the knee and super feminine pleats. Again, normally not a pleats person but if done right they can be an adorable detail! I dug deep into the belt box and found a thick one to complete the look, not that you even see it under my blazer!

The Wild Green Necklace

Lime Necklace It’s finally Friday and once again not trying to do anything too crazy with my outfit… except for wanting to wear this awesome lime green necklace for the first time! I picked it up a couple months ago from The Revolving Door along with a few others of equal vibrancy! Its made of all tiny (not to mention irritating) seed beads! And no, I definitely did not make this piece – I don’t have the tolerance for that!

I wanted to wear something rich in colour, potentially blue. I have a couple royal blue dresses that I often wear as tops, as well as this sheer bright blue irregular one I got for $5 at Spoof the last time I was downtown Toronto. The dresses were a failure, one is too big (I have since thrown it in the donate pile) and the other I need more time to sort out the styling of. So I elected to go with the tried and true: sheer blue with basic black tights, cardigan and tank top underneath paired with a thin black sparkle belt.
