The Mint Obsession

The Mint ObsessionLast year if you asked me what I thought of this colour I probably would have shrugged and said “well I’d prefer a dark turquoise personally.” But recently, any time I see this pastel hue my eyes bulge and the item is instantly in my hand. I know my style and interests change frequently so I’m sure in a few months there will be another colour that is a have-to-have. I find so often that women stick to black and only black, thinking it makes them look smaller or maybe its just an “easy” colour.

Aldo Flats I beg to differ. A pop of colour such as this mint that I obsess over, not only brightens your spirits but can give a rather simple outfit that perfect pop! Today’s outfit is a super fun mint blazer by H&M (naturally!), a striped camisole by Cleo, the most comfy jeans I’ve ever owned by Jones New York and my ALDO Cyphers Tassel Ballet Flats. Now some might say this look is a bit too matchy-matchy and I would almost agree, but some days you need something that doesn’t take a lot of thought but makes you feel great. For me this was a no-brainer, as although they are different shades of mint, blue, navy and aqua – they are the same colour family and work quite nicely side by side.

The Mint Blues A few days later I had another day that I wanted to go more simple but still put together well and again mint was my go-to colour. With a comfy pair of Guess jeggings paired with a fun floral blouse by Jessica (I know I was baffled by the brand too!) I felt casual but fun.

Once again the flats I’m wearing in this photo are a cute ballet style flat for only $3.99 at Value Village, in the kids section! Sigh!
