Kimberly’s Deja Vu Holiday Lookbook
Skirt by Trisisto and Knit Top by Cherie Bliss
We wanted to show a variety of looks for all kinds of women. This look is a more basic, less flashy outfit that’s just dressy enough for a holiday party or business lunch. You can easily dress up your every day wear with a necklace such as this one. A fitted skirt is a good balance for the excess of fabric in the top.
Sparkle Knit Twinset by Talbots and Ivory Satin Skirt by JS Collection
Another unique option that is just a step above your regular office attire is a sparkly knit twinset like this one from Talbots. Not super flashy but that hint of sparkle adds the festive edge you’re looking for. Its the type of top that you can wear on a regular basis but also make more formal with a neutral skirt or any dress pant. To finish the look, pair it with a nude dress shoe and statement necklace to draw the eye upward.
Silk Halter Dress by Suzi Chin
Not all formal outfits have to be black! This earth tone silk dress by Suzi Chin is an all season style in my opinion. It can be worn in the summer or winter with appropriate layering. You can add jewellery if you want more sparkle, a pair of dressy heels – or tone it down with a nice cardigan and a pair of ballet flats.
Black Sparkle Dress by Poet
The little black dress is always an easy go-to for holiday events, you just need to find yourself the right one for your shape! My first choice is always one that doesn’t have a zipper or buttons, that you can just pull over your head and poof! it magically hugs all your curves. Try out all kinds of styles and find the shape that’s most flattering for you. This one by Poet is ideal for fancier events as it has that beautiful yet subtle sparkle throughout.
Black Dress by Nueva and Sequined Pumps by Shoe Girls
Another take on the little black dress – this one by Nueva has gorgeous rhinestone details on the shoulders for an edgy look. To keep the look nice and simple, we’ve paired it with these amazing black and white sequin pumps by Shoe Girls. If your dress isn’t super exciting, you can always opt for bold heels to make the look pop. Same goes for statement jewellery!
Grey Formal Dress by Laura
Getting away from black, this grey formal dress by Laura is so easy to wear the possibilities are endless. Although this dress is inheriently more dressy than the others due to its floral rouching and sparkle throughout, you can tone it down with basic flats – no jewellery required! If you’re like me and you think: “go big or go home!” you can intensify the sparkle with a silver necklace, maybe chandelier earrings and a sparkle in the shoe. But again, that’s all up to you!
Formal Red Sequin Gown by Era Collection
The queen of all formal gowns is this absolutely stunning floor length gown by Era Collection. Talk about Jessica Rabbit! If you want to be a show stopper at this year’s holiday party, this is the dress that’s going to make it happen. You certainly feel like a million bucks when you walk out of the changeroom wearing head to toe in beautiful sparkle…. at least I do! I would own this dress if I didn’t have one similar in hot pink!
Black Leather Skirt by Danier and Sequined Jacket by Frank Lyman
Not every holiday get together is the same, so why not have a variety of options? This look is very chic with its black on black combo. The solid black Danier leather skirt is one of the few that has actually fit my big hips – I can honestly say I was very impressed. The Frank Lyman jacket adds the formal touch to the look, of course you could do the same with a simple black dress pant too. A little sparkle or beadwork can make the difference between day time and formal evening.
