New Year’s Looks

I’m always amazed at how fast a year comes and goes. I was just getting the hang of writing 2019! Now that it’s just about New Year’s Eve, one of the biggest celebrations of the year, many of us are once again wondering what to wear on this magical evening.

While there’s nothing wrong with staying in by the fireplace in our pjs, the sparkle lovers are out in full swing, just because we can! As a huge sequin and dress lover, this is a big decision! Luckily I have found some of the easiest and most stylish looks to ring in the new year for under $20 at Talize in Kingston!

Chic & Sexy

For those of you who are not crazy about wearing dresses, you can make a very chic look with shiny leggings that would give most formal dresses a run for their money. This festive outfit can be recreated easily by pairing a black tank top with a sparkly or sequins cardigan like this one by H&M. Add a sexy heel if you like for a little more polished look and you’re good to go!

Ravishing Starlet

This dress is unlike any other it’s so beautifully made fully lined for those of us in colder climates and it’s just the most comfortable formal dress imaginable. But there are many similar that I have come across in my travels I think the simplicity of it is what I find most attractive. The 3/4 sleeve is very flattering and a simple band of sequins at the bottom gives the illusion of it being a two-piece outfit.

Glam Girl

Depending on the type of venue, maybe a sequined formal gown is a better fit for your NYE celebrations. I found this beautiful number at Talize on a half-price sale day and snatched it up for under $20. I can’t say I have a particular event to wear it to yet but if I was going to a gala this would be really smashing!

Vintage Diva

Now this dress I wore on NYE last year and it was a smashing success. Another super comfortable style with a flattering high neckline and vintage extended shoulder. It has a black undertone and rainbow shimmer throughout. Subtle, but so classy.

Nothing gets the conversation started faster than the most exciting dress at the party! A colourful print or floral dress with sequin details is a great look for those that are tired of the “little black dress”. It’s bold, but you’ll feel the positive vibes all night long!

Femme Fatale

I have saved my favourite for last: a new $10 thrift find that fits like a glove, no zippers and nothing but stretch! With a black undertone and gold shimmer throughout, I will be dancing the night away. Nothing beats an outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks… Or in this case, ready to take on 2020!
